We try to solve two main issues in how people read books (and any kind of content) in the digital age: the pain of not being lost while reading an eBook and the pain of not being able to share one’s annotations on a ebook. Existing ebook reading apps are frustrating for readers: First, if you want to situate yourself in an ebook, the app gives you an estimation of your position in the entire book. Secondly, readers are forced to highlight the text they want to annotate. Then, to find their notes back, they need to go and, find them in another menu, which is three or four button clicks away. Their notes are disconnected from the context they have been taken. Addr allows readers to situate themselves in a book, thanks to a snapshot of the surrounding text. Addr takes the global view to the next level: it replaces the very fact of flicking a book in order for the reader to self-situate himself. Addr deals with adding readers’ personal insights to content.
